Wine pairing (part 2)

FAQ

The vast majority of the dinners I cook are hosted in people’s private homes, but occasionally I am asked to cook in a third party venue. I was asked recently to find a venue for a corporate client in west London. The Boathouse, stationed on a canal near Paddington, was perfect for a seated dinner for up to 20 and could also host a canape party for up to 30.

My client was happy to pay a corkage fee so that we could select our own wines and asked me to suggest wines which would go well with a Japanese-inspired menu.

Wine

Champagne Nau

Akemi Rioja Blanco - originally designed by a Spanish chef to accompany Japanese seafood.

Closerie de Thorins Moulin a Vent 2020 - a Gamay that paired beautifully with wagyu beef.
